FAQ

Questions, answered.

Booking & payment

How do I book?

Go to Book, choose your building, service, vehicle size, an open date and a time slot, add your car details and pre-pay online. It takes about two minutes.

Can I book for today?

No. Every booking is made ahead of time. A service date closes at 6 PM the day before, or as soon as it's full.

How many cars do you take per day?

Up to 6 cars per service day: 3 time slots of 2 hours, with 2 cars in each slot. Once a slot has 2 cars it closes, so every car gets proper time.

What time slots are there?

8:30 – 10:30 AM, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM, 1:15 – 3:15 PM. The booking calendar shows how many places are left in each slot.

When do I pay?

When you book. You pay online through Square's secure checkout, right after you pick your time. Your spot is held for 30 minutes while you pay, and it's confirmed as soon as payment goes through. You get an emailed receipt.

Is HST included?

Prices are listed before tax. 13% HST is added, and the booking page shows your full total before you pay.

What if I can't make my date or time?

Change it yourself on the Track my booking page up to 6 PM the day before, as long as the new slot has room. After that, call or text 613-415-6015 and we'll do our best.

On the day

Where do I drop off my car?

At the GarageDay wash spot in your building's garage, an area your building's management approves. It's signed on the day. Drop-off is at the start of the time slot you booked.

What do I do with my keys?

Leave them with our staff at the wash spot when you drop off. You get them back when you pick up.

How will I know it's ready?

We text you (and email you) the moment your car is done. You can also check your status any time on the Track my booking page with your booking code.

Should I take anything out of the car?

Please take valuables with you. We leave personal items where they are. If you have a child seat and didn't book the child seat clean, we clean around it.

What if my car needs more than I booked?

We ask you before doing any extra work. Nothing is added without your OK.

Water, equipment & staff

Do you really wash cars in an underground garage?

Yes, on a full-size containment mat with raised walls. All rinse water stays on the mat, is vacuumed into sealed containers and is emptied only into a sanitary drain (like the building's mop sink, with management's OK) or taken away. Nothing goes into floor or storm drains.

What does the City of Ottawa by-law have to do with it?

The City of Ottawa Sewer Use By-law (2025-94) controls what can go down drains. Wash water with soap, oil and salt can't go into storm or floor drains because they lead to rivers. Capturing every drop on the mat is how we follow it.

What equipment do you use?

A professional pressure washer and snow-foam pre-wash for exteriors, plus steam and a closed extractor for interiors. All company equipment, used only in the area the building approves.

Who does the work?

GarageDay Auto's own trained hourly staff, each with a full Ontario G licence. Zaheim, the founder, oversees every service day.

Are you new?

Yes. GarageDay Auto is a brand-new Ottawa company. We don't have reviews to show yet, so we put everything in writing and take photos of every car at check-in and check-out.

For buildings

Does the building pay anything?

No. Residents pay GarageDay Auto directly, and the building earns 10% of revenue to cover water and power.

What paperwork do you provide?

A liability certificate naming the property owner, provided before any work begins, plus product safety data sheets and the names of everyone on site.

How do we get GarageDay at our building?

Contact us and we'll walk your property manager through it.

Still have a question?

Call or text and you'll get Zaheim directly.
